Amboy,CA
Mojave Desert. Route 66. Roy's. Here's a little info about Roy's.
I have been hitchhiking toward warmer climes. I know, hitchhiking is fraught will all sorts of scary scenarios, but it's free and so far I have been lucky. I did have one close call when this guy offerred me a ride. I declined, for obvious reasons. But not before I surreptitiously snapped a shot with my iPhone in case I needed to give it to the authorities at some point.
You have probably noticed my canine companion. She is a stray, kind of like meself. I have named her Dorothy or Dot, for short. We met when I was checking out the dumpster behind the Hogan Family Restaurant in Tuba City, AZ. I have to say, we both had a fairly decent repast. Not one you would read about on TripAdvisor, though. Heh-heh.
Dot and I had a good rest in the lobby of Roy's where they let us curl up on one of the sofas. Maybe we will do some sightseeing over the next few days...........

I really envy WM for being able to visit cool places like Amboy. The Shoe Tree alone is worth the trip! I think the Gipons should seriously consider this for their next trip>
ReplyDeleteThanks for jumping on the comments bandwagon!
DeletePS - love the truck painting -- considering doing the same. And my name isn't Lou - I'll try to change that.
ReplyDeleteThanks, again, Lou! I think that painting would look pretty cool on the door of your car - one on each side for you and the Missus.
